Franklin G. Petersen, Portrait Artist

Franklin G. Petersen is a Sarasota, Florida based portrait artist who studied at the prestigious Art Students League in Manhattan, and at Provincetown, Massachusetts under Henry Henchi. He has received numerous grants, awards, and honors, and is represented by some of the finest galleries in the country. His work hangs in the Pentagon, Fortune 500 corporations, and major universities. He is listed in the "Who's Who" and "Who's Who in American Art."

He has painted a variety of prominent figures, including the Navy's first Lady Admiral, Mr. Bowie Kuhn, former Commissioner of Major League Baseball, members the famous Von Trapp family, the faculty of Fordham University Law School, and eminent Episcopal clergymen.

He is especially well-known for his portraits of children, and his arrangements and style have been much copied by other artists.
